Elder Studios started just 5 years ago as a team of two developing multi-channel retail software. Today we employ over 30 people and our clients range from growing enterprise start-ups to leading national businesses. With the company growing at an incredible pace, we are looking for keen graduates who are sharp developers that can help us with a host of new and exciting projects for our ever-growing client base.

  • Salary: £18,000 – £22,000 pa, depending on experience
  • Requirements: Completion of a relevant degree with 2:1 or higher
About the role

We’re looking for talented graduates from all relevant fields of software engineering and computer science to join our team as a developer on a full time, permanent basis. You do not need any specific software development background, but you must be able to demonstrate that you can pick up and succeed with any modern development language.

You’ll be working on a range of web-based applications, writing code, all day, every day. Duties will include optimising and upgrading web-based systems, as well as developing new applications for one of our biggest clients.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your core technical skills while working on high-profile projects through the development life cycle. A good degree in programming / software development and any professional certificates are a distinct advantage. We will provide all support necessary, but successful candidates will need to be able to manage their own workload as well as take direction and work as part of a team. A strong background and natural talent in programming and software development is essential.

Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of most of these:

  • A modern development framework.
  • MVC design patterns including use of an ORM.
  • Object-Oriented Development.
  • MySQL or other relational database.
  • HTML.
  • CSS.
  • jQuery.
