Our Story

We are Elder Studios, a company dedicated to quality software engineering, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. For the past five years we have been building world class web applications that deliver critical software solutions to our ever growing number of national clients.

Our services and expertise cover the entire software development life cycle from planning and integration, through infrastructure and testing, to ongoing maintenance and support. We understand that selecting the right people to work with is key to the successful completion of any project. We do not outsource any of our development work.

2017

34 Employees

Employing 34 staff, 28 of whom are software engineers based in the centre of Huddersfield. Over the past 12 months we have extended our capability to cover all aspects of software delivery, with AWS certified professionals working alongside certified software developers, testers and project managers, we offer all the resource needed for any size of development.

2016

28 Employees

In early 2016 we made the switch to AWS for all new clients. This moved us closer to our primary vision, a single DevOps team that can deliver end-to-end solutions without any cross-business conflicts. First work placements employed in 2016, building a pipeline of talent that has industry experience taught the Elder way.

2015

21 Employees

First graduate employees taken on from Huddersfield University following the previous year’s final year lectures. With the recruitment strategy showing success we took on second year student lectures in 2015 to enable a work placement programme in 2016.

2014

16 Employees

Having taken on an additional seven members of staff in 2014, and recognising the future challenges of recruitment in the industry, Elder forged a partnership with the University of Huddersfield to lecture final year undergraduates and thus ensure a pipeline of exceptional talent.

2013

10 Employees

We moved to the Media Centre at the end of 2013 to accommodate our growing number of employees; the new offices allowed us to expand faster and, being in the centre of town, it helped us grow quickly.

2012

3 Employees

Founded in 2012 in a small office in Farnley Tyas, our two founders employed their first member of staff and focused on a single (but large) client for the first year of business.
